Laura we are thrilled to have you here today, and anxious to discuss what Seduced by the Vampire King is all about. Before we chat about the book, how about we get to know you a little more? Deal?

Evie: Describe Laura in five words.

Laura: Oh,man, this is hard! Let’s see: Mom, Author, Friend, Crazy, Fun. Was that totally lame? LOL

Evie: What is your favorite song and why?

Laura: Oh,see, this changes from time to time. The song that has totally been owning me lately is Skylar Grey’s Love the Way You Lie. The emotion in this song is so raw, it just speaks to me.

Evie: What is the one place you've always wanted to go but have never been?

Laura: I can actually tie this one to my new book! It would totally be Moscow, Russia,the setting of Seduced by the VampireKing! However, there are TONS of places I’d love to go but have not been(yet!)…

Evie: Writing is already fun, but what do you do for fun?

Laura: Read,read, read. I also love to watch movies.

Evie: It seems you can write pretty much about anything, how do you come about all these wonderful stories?

Laura: Honestly,I have no idea. A character will usually come to me first, and I pretty much feel like he (it usually is the hero) tells me what the story is, and then it begins to take on a life of its own. Even as I’m writing, I don’t always know what’s going to happen until it’s happening. It’s like the stories exist outside me, and I’m just a conduit for the words. It’s a very cool experience.


Evie: You have quite a few releases coming up, Her Forbidden Hero (already out), Seduced by the Vampire King, and West of Want-- do you have any more surprises for your readers later this year? Pray tell.

Laura: It’s a very exciting time for me, there’s no doubt about it! And, yes, I definitely have more surprises up my sleeve. More vampire warrior kings, more Anemoi gods,and the heroine’s brother Brady from Her Forbidden Hero will get his own book, too! And that’s just some of what’s on the horizon! *grins*

Evie: Tell us what makes these three books a "must read".



Laura: For all three, I think it’s the intensity of the emotion and the compelling, tortured heroes. In Seduced by theVampire King, the story revolves around two people who want nothing less than a relationship, especially with the person they fall for. And the hero,Nikolai Vasilyev, is the perfect dark brooding vampire! In Her Forbidden Hero, I think readers will ache for Marco and Alyssa to get together, and the characters are very real and relatable—I hope readers will love that. West of Want is possibly the best book I’ve written, and I’m hoping readers will fall for Zeph’s tortured self-loathing and enjoy the world-building and mythology in this story—it’s pretty close to epic! *grins*

Evie: Can you share with your readers a sneak peek of your upcoming release?

Laura: I would love to! This is from Seduced bythe Vampire King, which releases June 1:

Nikolai crouched next to her. “You’re hurt. We have a doctor on staff. I would like him to look at you. Will you allow it?”

“Um. I’m just a little banged up.” Her gaze dropped to the tray.

Her implicit refusal stoked the fire of his mounting anger. “Christ, Katherine,you’re a little more than banged up.” Before he’d even thought to do it, he yanked her wrist from her lap and tore the gauze free.

She gasped and pulled back, but his grip on her elbow held her in place.

Holy Mother of God. He was an animal. A fucking animal. Chewed. It was the only word to describe what he saw. From wrist to midforearm, her arm was a landscape of red and purple. One, two, three times his fangs had penetrated her flesh—and not cleanly, and at least twice had his other teeth broken her skin, too. Angry bruises in the form of fingers—his fingers—circled her arm in several places.

“Stop.You’re hurting me.”

Her words slapped him. He released her, suddenly aware of how hard he’d been gripping her elbow and hand. She cradled her arm against her stomach, remnants of gauze still clinging, and hid the worst of the injuries from his gaze. But the image was seared onto his brain. His throat went raw, as if he’d swallowed glass.

His head sagging on his shoulders, he tugged his hands through his hair. He couldn’t stop hurting others, could he? And to hurt her, of all people. Maybe they’d all just be better off if he—

“Hey,”she said softly. The light touch of her hand landed on the back of his head. After a moment, she stroked him. Slow. Gentle.

Out of nowhere, a hazy memory slammed into his brain. The soft drags of her fingers in his hair, when he’d been injured, when she’d given him permission to feed from her vein. How shaken she must’ve been, how much pain he’d clearly inflicted, and yet she’d shown him tenderness, compassion.

“I’ll see the doctor, okay? You know, as long as he’s a real doctor, and all.” The soft cup of her hand petted over his hair again.

For a long moment, Nikolai absorbed the incredible warmth and gentleness of her touch. It had been so long since he’d allowed himself the smallest pleasure. He didn’t deserve it, but that didn’t keep him from wanting it, from needing it, like air, or blood.

Resigned to see fear or hatred or disgust in her eyes, Nikolai lifted his head.

She smiled at him, her eyes filled with what looked like understanding and concern.“Okay?”

Nikolai’s chest flooded with a foreign warm pressure. The hand that he rubbed against his sternum ached and the meaning of that sensation niggled at his consciousness. What was she doing to him? He swallowed, hard, and nodded, the flash fire ofhis rage dying as quickly as it had roared to life. “Okay.”
